Found on the secluded East Bedarra Island in Queensland, where the white sand beaches wrap around turquoise water framed by shady palm trees, is the tropical paradise of Bedarra Island Villa. This is the ultimate beach house in regards to privacy and beauty, and makes for the perfect romantic escape. This property and its surroundings have been documented in many books and magazines including Wallpaper, Vogue Living, and Belle. Located on the world famous Australian Great Barrier Reef, this is a property where you can experience a truly sultry oasis.
You will find the stunning Bedarra Island Villa positioned near the water's edge on a private two-acre estate that wraps around a palm-framed white sand beach in Doorila Cove - an area long considered by prominent artists, photographers, and writers as the most beautiful beach on the island. Bedarra Island Villa enjoys absolute beach frontage so it is the ideal location for you to swim or snorkel for hours in the warm, clear, turquoise waters of the Coral Sea and explore the hundreds of different fish native to this area. There are kayaks, snorkeling gear, and fishing reels and rods to be used at your disposal throughout the duration of your stay. Endless opportunities await you to explore outdoors, both in the water and on dry land.
The home itself features a functional design interior by renowned architect Robert Davidov that you will find to be languidly relaxed, yet comfortably modernist. An open plan lounge and dining area expands outwards to a large deck, all of which enjoy a stunning view of the Coral Sea and the distant islands, extending to the oceans of the Great Barrier Reef, the South Pacific, and beyond. The Villa features three large bedrooms so it can comfortably sleep up to four guests between superior quality linen sheets. An outdoor shower and toilet ensure that you can rinse off outside after your day at the beach. An adjoined Studio house that sleeps an additional four guests and originally built by the prominent artist Noel Wood in the early 20th century is also included. Later renovated by Ian Moore, the Studio lovingly maintains many of the original features pre-renovation. A gin and cognac bottle feature wall, a stone fireplace, bamboo paneling and a collection of original bamboo furniture items handmade by Mr. Wood all lend a unique atmosphere to the Studio.
There are only a small number of private homes on East Bedarra Island and there is absolutely no public access, so you will never see any day-trippers or camera-happy tourists. Travelling to Bedarra Island will be relished by those who love a sense of adventure. This is a true getaway in every sense of the word, and once you arrive you will feel as though you have landed in another world. You will be able to relax and unwind in seclusion, but not isolation. Their caretakers will await your arrival by boat to help you land on your own island in the sun. This exclusive accommodation is your very own luxury beach house, where you can truly experience heaven and tranquility.
