Funky fit out

"This great little boutique hotel is everything you could possibly want for urban digs. Best location possible, close to all the hot restaurants and nightspots, and super friendly. Staff who know the area well and can share local's secrets."

Medusa's 18 rooms all reflect the importance of beautiful surroundings, comfort and privacy. Stunning mixtures of exotic timbers pay homage to bold theatrics in colour and furnishings where each room takes on an individual identity.

Medusa's rooms have king or queen size beds, and ensuites. All rooms have climate control air-conditioning, key card security, iron/board, TV, DVD and CD players, wifi, mini bar and kitchenette with microwave. Other luxurious amenities include Aesop toiletries, Lindt chocolates pure wool blankets, premium towelling and bed linen.

Medusa Boutique Hotel is located on a quiet section of Darlinghurst Road between busy William Street and the even busier Oxford Street. Darlinghurst is an urban village similar to New York's 'Soho', with a unique inner city vibe where the locals are black clad youth leaders, who include artists, independent filmmakers and designers. 100 years ago it was lined with the mansions of Australia's early gentry. Today it still has a number of mansions, however it is more famous for its cafe society, bohemian culture and eclectic mix of the old and the new.

Elevated above the city, Darlinghurst is the centrepiece of the surrounding inner city suburbs, Paddington, Surry Hills, East Sydney, Potts Point, Kings Cross and Elizabeth Bay. The CBD, the Harbour and Opera House are all within walking distance of Medusa - the perfect location for those who wish to interact with the creative locals.

  • Although I didn't have my dog with me the times I've stayed, I'm loving the fact that he is welcome. The room we were given was at the back of the property and I'm glad it was - it felt like we had privacy (normally hotels make us feel like anyone is about to walk in). The bathroom was on the smaller side but the shower was fantastic! Bed was HUGE and amenities were all there.
