"We love the rustic charm and the remoteness of this property. My 50th and our 28th wedding anniversary was the best I could have - with my wonderful family, we will be back!"

Step inside Kookawood and step back in time. This unique and charming farm house, built using recycled windows, doors, bridge beams and stone, looks as though it is over 100 years old. Every room is filled to the brim with antiques and curios from the past. Inside you’ll discover cathedral ceilings, huge timber beams, and an open plan living area with lounge room, dining room and kitchen. Enjoy stunning views of the Blue Mountains from the large windows in the living area, verandah and both bedrooms.
At the heart of Kookawood you will find an enormous stone fireplace. No matter if it is snowing or just cold outside, you’ll have the perfect excuse to pour yourself a glass of wine, pull up a cosy chair and enjoy the roaring fire. The country kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, large English oven, microwave, dishwasher and plenty of crockery and utensils for cooking. During the day grab the Wellington boots and venture outside to build a snowman on the lawn, or go for a bushwalk and breathe in the clean mountain air.
Pets are welcome, but be warned, they will not want to leave after a few days of freedom and leash-free walks around the property. Expect to see wildlife just outside the front door, with kangaroos dining on the lawn in the early morning and late afternoon. Wild ducks regularly visit the dam and pond right next to the house. Other friendly creatures you are likely to spot include micro bats, wombats, echidnas, frogs and lizards. Of course, there’s also their hand raised, friendly farm pets, two cows - Boo and Bella and two horses - Bobby and Sonnet.
Kookawood is located on 200 magnificent acres in the beautiful Blue Mountains, two hours’ drive from Sydney. It’s only a 15-20 minute drive to shops and restaurants, but if you choose instead to spend your days exploring Kookawood, there’s much to see and do. Enjoy bushwalking on the property and in the neighbouring pine forest. Swim in the clear water dam or in nearby Lake Lyell. Catch freshwater yabbies. Meet and feed the friendly farm animals. Watch kangaroos and wildlife from the verandah. Soak up the breathtaking views. Simple bliss indeed.
